3G stands for third generation mobile technology. It supports high speed data internet and applications such as video calling, mobile TV, music download, movie download etc.

2. Do I have to register for this service?

No. You only have to pay for the usage; separate registration is not required.

3. Do I have to change my 2G Sim Card?

No, you need to enable 3G Services from Sanchar Hat.

4. What should be my handset requirement?

Any of the 3G compatible handsets with video call option may be used.

8. Will I get a free trial?

No, at present free trials are not being offered.

9. Do I need to change any settings in my mobile?

No. All that you need is a 3G compatible mobile which supports video call with front camera and you are ready to go!

10. How do I make a Video Call?

Select the appropriate number for the video call option on the menu displayed on your mobile. You can then establish the video call by following the simple procedure that is displayed for this option.

11. How many callers are allowed for one Conference Call?

A total of four callers are allowed including you, the initiator of the call.

12. How many times does the service try to initiate a conference call, if a called number is busy?

The service tries once for each number.

13. How do I send or open a Video SMS?

You can record your video by selecting option 1 in the video SMS service and send the video to your friends by following the simple procedure that is displayed. To view a video SMS received by you, select the video to be played from the Inbox menu.

14. How many people can I send a Video SMS at a time?

You can send it to one person. You will be prompted to send it to others, upto a maximum of two persons. To send the same video to more persons, forward it from the sent items.

15. For assistance, whom should I call?

Call 1503 for Customer Care, from your mobile.

16. Can I get 3G services on my existing MTNL number?

Yes, you can use the same number for 3G services.

17. How many operators in India provide 3G services?

At present, MTNL, which is the first operator to launch the 3G service in India, and BSNL have launched 3G services.

18. Will I be charged separately for all services?

Yes, a separate charge is payable for each service.

19. How much can I upload in a day with 3G?

You are allowed to upload any number of times, till the account balance for your number is exhausted.

20. Will I be paid for uploaded videos / blogs on You Tube?

No.

21. What is the coverage area of this service?

Most parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), Delhi and Mumbai City in Maharashtra
